Union Properties breaks ground on Phase I of $556m Motor City

Union Properties has broken ground on the first phase of its AED2.2 billion ($566 million) Motor City Developments featuring 880 residences in Dubai. UAE-based Airolink has been signed up as the EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) contractor for the project.
 
Valued at AED800 million, the Motor City Views is the first of the proposed phased developments within the mega project coming up on a sprawling 35.3 million sq ft area offering a mix of residential, business, sports and leisure opportunities. 
 
A city within a city’ the Motor City Developments comprises six sectors with unique destinations - Avenue District, Dubai Autodrome, Union District Mall, OIA Residence, Uptown, Green Community MotorCity, and First Avenue Mall & Hotel - and will also be home to a total of 11,630 residential units.

Located in the heart of Motor City and overlooking its famous racetrack, the Motor City Views has a built-up area of over 1 million sq ft featuring 880 residences with a mix of 313 studios, 427 one-, 133 two- and seven three-bedroom apartments. 

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony held yesterday (September 15), Union Properties Chairman Khalifa Hassan Al Hammadi said: "The Motor City Views project is the true embodiment of the developer's innovative concept, and Airolink is the right EPC partner to realize this vision."

The apartments are divided into three buildings with seven floors and are serviced by recreational areas designated for residents, such as air-conditioned sports halls, covered children's playgrounds, and swimming pools of different sizes for all age groups. 
 
The buildings include a retail area with diverse shops, restaurants, and various recreational activities to meet the residential community's needs.
