Global engineering and industrial services provider Bilfinger said it has signed a three-year blanket agreement contract with Abu Dhabi Transmission & Despatch Company (Transco) for maintenance of sodium hypochlorite plants at its pumping stations across the emirate.

The multimillion-dollar pact, secured by Bilfinger's Middle East division till 2022, involves routine maintenance, equipment repair, replacement and new equipment installation of sodium hypochlorite plants, which includes generation system and dosing system from process water inlet up to injection points across Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Northern and Western Region.

On the strategic deal, Christopher Barker, the managing director of Bilfinger Deutsche Babcock Emirates, said: "We are delighted and thankful to Transco for their continued trust in our services. This agreement is a leap forward in our affiliation and we only see more optimistic opportunities ahead."

"As a major player in the engineering and industrial services sector with nearly half a century presence in the UAE, Bilfinger is committed to offer cost effective solutions, that boosts the efficiency of assets and ensures a high level of availability and cuts maintenance costs. It is a promise that the company lives by," he stated.

The Germany-based group's portfolio covers the entire value chain from consulting, engineering, manufacturing, assembly, maintenance, plant expansion as well as turnarounds and also includes environmental technologies and digital applications.

According to Barker, the main objective is to ensure that the equipment is in excellent condition.

"In order to achieve full capacity output, Bilfinger will perform inspection, based on which, corrective maintenance (repair/ replacement) will be implemented by supplying required equipment and performing the required services," he added.

Bilfinger Middle East President and CEO Jon Rokk said: "We are extremely confident in the value that we provide through our maintenance contracts."

"In fact, our contracts are tailor-made to our client’s needs while upholding the highest standards of safety, ensuring increase in their plants’ reliability and optimizing the maintenance costs throughout the plants lifecycle," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
