Emirates Steel, the only integrated steel plant in the UAE and a subsidiary of the General Holding Corporation (Senaat), has launched its fourth annual CSR initiative on the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan, titled ‘We Give You Smile’.

As part of the company’s commitment to families and communities in the UAE, 60 volunteers from across Emirates Steel distributed over 500 Ramadan supply parcels, containing basic food items, to around three hundred families in need in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Al Ain.

First launched in 2016, the initiative under the company’s ongoing corporate social responsibility programme, following the example of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and underlining Emirates Steel’s commitment to strengthening local communities through meaningful approaches to social challenges.

Engineer Saeed Ghumran Al Remeithi, chief executive officer of Emirates Steel, said: “Ramadan is a blessed time of year, and we are keen to ensure such blessings are shared with the whole community, reflecting the values of the society of the UAE.”

“In such a spirit, we have run ‘We Give You Smile’ for the past four years during the Holy Month to share our success with those who need it,” he said.

“As part of our Ramadan celebrations, we have set up a tent for workers to enjoy Iftar, provided for by the company. We host one hundred people every day, and we will serve three thousand Iftar meals during the Holy Month,” he added.

Al Remeithi continued: “Our employees are always keen to be involved in our humanitarian initiatives, displaying our company ethos that emphasizes the importance of carrying for our communities and environment.”

“It is humbling to be able to provide such support across the UAE, alongside other companies, who recognise the value of providing humanitarian and social assistance to those in need. My thanks to the relevant authorities for their collaboration on this project, and I wish all the recipients of the campaign a blessed and joyous Ramadan,” he concluded. – TradeArabia News Service
