Work is progressing at a steady pace on the giant Saudi pavilion being set as part of the Dubai Expo 2020 gala event, said a report, citing senior government officials who recently toured the project site.

Saudi Minister of Economy and Planning Mohammed Al Tuwaijri led an official delegation comprising Engineer Khalid Al Falih, Saudi Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources and other senior government representatives, reported state news agency Wam.

The visiting members were received by Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, and Dubai Expo 2020 Bureau Director-General.

During the visit, the delegation was briefed on the latest developments and work progress in the global event, stated the report.

Al Tuwaijri thanked the UAE government for allocating a prominent location, in terms of eminence and space, to the Saudi pavilion.

The kingdom's pavilion will be the second largest one at the mega global event after the host country UAE, in a sign that translates the robust historical relations binding the two countries' leadership and people, it added.
